Snug Travel Baby Bed

When Chris was a newborn I always struggled with finding a safe and comfy place for him to sleep when we were away from home. A travel bed is a great solution. This travel bed by Sung gives you a lightweight and easy to transport way to bring along that safe comfy space for your new baby. What is great about it you can bring along that place your baby feels familiar with and know that it is clean. No more trying to find a place in a friend or family members home worrying about how clean the area is. The bag has a removable adjustable strap and a grab handle on top. It has semi hard plastic sides and it zips close. You can even put extra stuff inside like a change of close or extra diapers.

The inner bed pad is removable as well as the extra inner support cushions.

The bed pad is in a removable cover so you can take it out to wash it.

Pros:
lightweight
easy to transport
provide a familiar clean spot
great for newborn to about 6 months

Cons:
The fabric is not the the printed poke a dot pattern shown on the website.
The fabric on the inside is very lightweight and may no be very durable.

Bamboo Changing Pads

This three pack of bamboo changing pad liners have saved me a ton of laundry. Now I don't have to wash my changing pad any time we have an accident when changing Chris. No more worry about a big mess if he does what little boys like to do mid diaper change.

As you can see by the photo the changing pad liner covers the full size of a standard changing pad.
They are thin and soft and have a waterproof pack.

Watch the video to learn more about the changing pad liners.

I have been very happy with how well these wash up and how soft they are.

Stretchy Baby Wrap by Belephant

I am a huge fan of babywearing. I have worn Chris from birth to now, at almost three he still goes up. When he was a tiny baby I loved using a stretchy baby wrap. The only problem was that it got hot, the most popular brand available when Chris was young was the Moby wrap. Now there are so many more choices and they are made of lighter weight fabrics so they are cooler and more comfortable. I had the chance to try out this baby wrap by Belephant. It is made of 95% cotton and 5% Spandex . It is good for newborns all the way up to children weighing 35lbs.

What I love about this carrier is that it comes in it's own storage bag. You can keep it clean and packed up for easy transport to a diaper bag.

The bag has a drawstring style top and is made of the same soft stretchy fabric as the carrier.

The middle marker is this logo tag making it easy to find and keeps any scratchy tags away from baby.

The outside of the fabric is very smooth and soft, The inside is soft yet has a small bumpy texture. I like this because it helps me keep the right side out and the textured inside makes me feel like I am getting a secure carry.

The only down side of this carrier is that it comes with no instructions on how to use it. To me this is not a big deal because there are tons of YouTube videos to learn how to use a stretchy wrap.

Homemade gummy bears

With Chris' GI disorder we can't buy many pre-made snacks. I was excited to try making him gummy bears at home.  I followed this recipe to make my gummy bears. I used this silicone mold. I was so excited to find a mold in the actual shape and size of gummy bears. It makes 50 bears at one time and comes with a syringe making it easy to fill each bear. What is great about this mold is it is good for more then just making gummy candy. You can put it in the oven or freezer. It is also dishwasher safe.

The mold make cute bite sized bears.Filling it was quick with the use of the syringe.  Because the mold is flexible I had no problems popping them out when done. They came out clean and kept their shape. It cleaned up very fast with hot soapy water or it can be placed in the dishwasher. I have also used it to make fun bear shaped ice cubes. Overall I am very happy with this mold and can't wait to find more fun ways to use it.

Welch’s® Refreshingly Simple- not so simple

I am always on the hunt for safe foods for Christopher. I had high hopes when I was sent a free sample of Welch's Refreshingly simple juice from Bzz Agent to try. But don't be fooled by the name, this juice is not simple. It's number two ingredient is sugar! What is simple about loading up a naturally sweet juice with more sugar? Granted the flavor was nice, too sweet in my opinion and the color was lovely. But in my opinion you can not call something simple if you are going to add a ton of unnecessary stuff to it.

So don't let the marketing and label fool you, this is not a healthy drink. It has as much sugar as kool-aid! Always remember to check those labels so you are not hit with an advertising sabotage.

Simple Baby Steps To Permanent Weight Loss

I always want to improve me health and diet by eating better. The problem I have is I try to jump in too fast, I give up everything, which means I fail. Monday I say I'm giving up soda, by Tuesday I'm tired, soda is still in the fridge and I give in. Once I give in I figure I am just not able to make the changes. What this book taught me is that it is ok to make small steps. Do one little thing here or there. Drop from 7 sodas a week to 6, and keep going down. Add a healthy food, remove a bad one, make a better choice, or just cut back. Bottom line is any steps in the right direction are improvement. For some people like me, I can't change over night which is why this book is so helpful. It goes over different ways to make small changes that don't feel like much but when you add them all together over time give big results. It talks about the importance of what you put in your body, not just how much. It is more of a lifestyle change book then a diet book. Do you go for walks? No? Then take a 5 minute walk, the next day shoot for 10 minutes, have a bad day and fail? Don't give up, just get back on track. If you want to make changes to be healthy inside and out give this book a read. I can not express how helpful the information is. Sometimes you just don't know how or where to start. This book gives you choices and tells you why those things are good, or bad for you. I love to understand why I should eat or avoid something. It helps me stick to the plan if I understand what that item is doing to my body.

New kitchen Utensils

I am so excited to clean out my kitchen utensil drawer, it had become a cluttered mess of cheap and broken utensils and I could never find what I needed. I was given this set of 6 Kitchen Tools with a Stand! I love that I can toss out all my old cheap broken stuff and free up the drawer. Now all my kitchen tools are stored at easy reach and it looks great.
All six tools fit nicely on the rack that spins. They don't fall off when you turn them. They also do not touch the counter so they stay clean.

Dinosaur Toys

Chris got a fun set of dinosaur toys. It was a 12 pack from Amazon. Each dinosaur was different, with great colors, textures and styles. They were all about the same size so t-rex and a raptor were the same size but for Chris that was ok. They stand up fine on smooth surfaces, the raptors and other dinosaurs that stand on two feet did not stand as well on the carpet. They are made in two parts and hollow in the middle so they are light weight. Check out the video bellow for more info and to see some of the great dinosaurs.

Pretend Play Toy Tool Set

Chris loves watching me use my tools, and even wants to help. Now he has his own set of tools.

The set is 23 pieces and has a tool belt. It includes a hammer, wrench, drill, drill bits, saw, pliers and a working tape measure.

Chris jumped right in looking at all his new tools and how realistic each one was. With moving parts they work just like real tools.

The tool belt loops have a raised picture of each tool, so you always get the right tool in the correct spot. This is great for working on matching skills.

Chris loved the tools but the tool belt was just too big for him, even on the smallest setting. He still uses it to store his tools when he is done using them.

The quality is great and I loved the attention to detail with each tool. The selection of tools covered all your basic tool needs and really lets your child feel like they can build or fix anything.

They are available on Amazon for under $20 which makes them the perfect holiday gift.

Get them HERE.

Mumberry Maternity Yoga Pants

Meet Danielle, My best friend and yoga buddy.
She is the one that does crazy upside down and aerial silks stuff with me.

As you can see she is very active. But guess what? She is 19 weeks pregnant now. Does that mean she is slowing down. Nope not one bit. But what is slowing her down is her yoga pants. Her growing belly does not fit in her pants and they roll down or are too tight. A bigger size is not the fix because then they are baggy and don't fit right. So the solution was Mumberry Maternity Yoga pants. These maternity yoga pants offer more then just belly room. They have a built in belly support band. They are made of a 4-way stretch fabric and offer the easy of movement with the comfort of moisture wicking fabric. There is even a built in pocket!

As you can seen in the photo it has a full belly panel that grows with you so you can wear them through the end of your pregnancy. "The Mumband is built right in to all Mumberry Maternity activewear and supports your belly with gentle compression and upward lift, allowing you to do more during your fit pregnancy" Danielle said that the mumband made her so comfortable it gave her support and allowed her to work out without worrying about her belly or any pain. The pants are light weight and breathable without being see through.

They come in grey and black. Danielle's pair is black.

19 weeks pregnant. As you can see the mumband supports the belly.

Full belly panel with room to grow. Lots of stretch.

Watch for updates to this blog and addition blog posts as there will be photos of these pants as the pregnancy goes on. Danielle has high hopes and feels confident that these pants will still fit her when she is 40 weeks. Why keep buying bigger sizes as you grow when you can get one style that will fit you the whole time.

Not only can you get yoga pants from Mumberry, they offer a full line of activegear including tops.
Check out their store HERE.
